(1): Defining Terms: These are the terms that appear on this list:

Scientific Research: It is the achievement based on scientific foundations agreed on, and it is the
outcome of individual or/and collective effort.

Main Researcher: He is a staff member, or someone else treated as such, and he represents and
supervises co-research.

Co-researcher: He is a staff member, or someone else treated as such, and he contributes, with other
researchers, to conducting a research study.

Examining referee: He is a staff member or an expert appointed to check and study the scientific
product.

Reviewer: He is a staff member, or someone else treated as such, or an expert appointed to review the
scientific product.

Counselor: He is a staff member, or someone else treated as such, or an expert assigned by the
Specialist Research Center to render consultative services or carry out
consultative studies.

(2): Research studies conducted at the university aim at enriching all useful
fields especially by:
(A).
Highlighting the Islamic approach along with its achievements in human history
and civilization.
(B).
Collating Arab and Muslim heritage, taking care of it, alphabetizing it,
editing it and making it available for researchers.
(C).
Offering the scientific leaflet and developing practical and scientific
solutions to the problems facing society through research studies requested by
public or private organizations.
(D).
Adopting modern technology and taking part in developing and adjusting it to
the local circumstances to serve development purposes.
(E).
Relating scientific research to the university's aims and development plans,
avoiding double standards and repetition, and making use of previous studies.
(F).
Raising a generation of Saudi distinguished researchers and training them in
conducting high quality, novel research through engaging postgraduate students,
teaching assistants, lecturers and research assistants in carrying out research
studies.
(G).
Promoting higher education and postgraduate studies.

(10): The Research Center Board is in charge of looking into all matters
related to it particularly:

Suggesting the annual research plan and preparing the budget needed for that.

Studying staff members' research projects and following up their execution.

Studying research projects and studies requested by parties other than the university, selecting
researchers, following up the execution of the research studies and projects
and suggesting rewards for those in charge of them according to the rules and
regulations governing that.

Recommending spending from the assigned research budget in accordance with the rules and regulations
governing that.

Studying the annual report, final account, and the Center's budget draft and sending it to the
concerned party.

Studying what the Research Center's deanship refers to the Board.

(11): The Scientific Research Center's director is responsible for:
-
Supervising and following up the course of research studies of staff members, those treated as such
and research assistants in addition to directly supervising the Center's
administrative and technical bodies.

Contacting the scientific departments, motivating staff members into research, coordinating their
research, supplying them with the means and facilities that help prepare their
research and publishing it as efficiently as possible.
-
Contacting and coordinating with the other research centers at the university and everywhere as far
as they are related to the nature of research conducted under the supervision
of the center or that which will be carried out by organizations other than the
university.

Preparing the annual budget draft of the Center's activities for presenting to the Board, then
sending it to the concerned authority at the university.

Preparing the annual report on the Center's activities and sending it to the concerned authority.
