Sciences
Exhibition
In
1423H, Sciences Exhibition has been inaugurated at
the Department of Natural Sciences, Teachers College. It aims at developing
scientific skills of the students such as comprehension, persuasion, and
experimentation. In this exhibition, the focus is on Primary School students in
an attempt to enhance their self-concept and self-esteem through observation of
empirical experiments.
The
Exhibition has many corners including:
·
Living Animal Corner
It
includes a lot of species of reptiles such as snakes, lizards, and
scorpions. The student can observe the behavior of such species and hence deal
with them.
·
Geology Corner
It
includes specimens of minerals, the chemical composition and structure of
minerals, the composition and origin of rocks, the origin of landforms and
their modification by dynamic processes, the chemical composition of earth
materials and the chemical changes that occur within the earth and on its
surface, the erosion and deposition of rock particles by wind, water, or ice,
and human-made structures such as tunnels, mines, dams, bridges, and building
foundations.
·
Medical Equipment Corner
It
includes machinery designed to aid in the diagnosis or treatment of medical
problems. It is usually designed with rigorous safety
standards.
There are several basic types:
·
Diagnostic equipment
includes medical
imaging machines
are used to aid diagnosis. These include ultrasound, MRI, CAT-scans, PET,
and x-ray
machines.
·
Therapeutic equipment includes infusion pump, medical lasers and LASIK surgical
machines.

Life support equipment
is used maintain a patient's bodily function. These include medical
ventilators, heart-lung
machines, ECMO,
and dialysis

patient vital signs and other parameters including ECG, EEG, blood
pressure,
and dissolved
gases
in the blood.
·
Medical laboratory equipment automates or help analyze blood, urine and genes.
